Welcome to CHURCHandWORLD.com
News that has an impact on ministry

WELCOME!
We are glad you found us!

Allow us to introduce CHURCHandWORLD.com to you:

1. Every day except Sundays we post a new issue with news about the Church.
For whom?
Lay and clergy leaders in U.S. churches, from grassroots to national leaders, as well as missionaries all over the world, and anybody else who wants to be well-informed about the life and mission of the Church of Jesus Christ in the world.

2. We give two broad categories of news in each issue:
General news about the Church, including denominations, organizations and movements of Christians, in the U.S. and around the world.
News about the interaction of the Church with the cultures.
(E.g. the interaction with other religions; issues of church and state; how the Church is viewed by outsiders; the impact the Church has on the cultures and vice versa); how the Church does mission in the world; how to help the poor effectively; persecution of Christians; developments in science to which Christians need to find an ethical response, and much more...)
AT THIS TIME WE MOSTLY LINK to what others have put on the web.PLUS we post unsolicited letters, opinion pieces, columns, hymns, prayers, etc.sent to us by readers.

3. Our different editions
Currently we have 3 editions, and plan to add many more. Those 3 are:
The General Edition – for those denominations and groups for which we don't have a special edition (we might have at a later stage).
The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Edition, aka as Presbyweb, and the
The United Methodist Church Edition

All denominational/group editions contain the same news as the General Edition, PLUS they also give you "All the National (and International) News" of that particular denomination, "from left to right," official and unofficial, in detail.

The edition for the Presbyterian Church (USA) has been in existence since May 1998 under the name Presbyweb. CHURCHandWORLD.com is built on the editorial formula developed and matured over the years for Presbyweb.

Who pays for CHURCHandWORLD.com?
We are (fiercely) independent from any denomination, organization, or group. Our independence is very important for our mission. Therefore, we ask our readers to pay an annual subscription fee. Yes, on the Internet! And people Do subscribe. It just goes to show that they find this web publication worth the expense! This is a site people want to pay for! After all, "it is the quick and easy way to miss nothing."

THE FIRST MONTH IS ALWAYS FREE, NO STRINGS ATTACHED (only registration is required), so you will have ample opportunity to learn first-hand what CHURCHandWORLD.com has to offer.

We will expose you consistently to voices from the entire spectrum, whether we agree with them or not. So expect:

always something to like,
always something to dislike,
always something to ponder.

You will notice quickly that we rarely insert our own opinions, and never without clearly warning you, and you better believe that we don't leave out opinions we don't like. We just want to know and make known what's out there on those countless web pages we monitor every day, searching for news and information we think you might be interested in.
Note: We link to what we find when we find it. Which means that many days there is no balance on our site! That doesn't bother us at all. We don't try to manufacture "balance", as it would mean (temporarily) withholding an article until we find a piece from the other side which we don't know will ever come. We don't ask people to write a countering article, either. If there is "balance" on our site, it is over time. Who knows what we will find tomorrow! Those who are most passionate about an issue, are likely to produce more news and a greater variety of opinion pieces, and if they do, they will get more press on our pages. All our readers are invited to send us letters, opinion pieces (and columns, and links to articles and blogs), and we are very generous in our acceptance policy.

See for yourself to what this editorial policy leads. Try us out, bookmark the page of the edition you prefer to see on a regular basis, and come often, if not daily!

Please, choose an edition:
General Edition – UMC Edition – PC(USA) edition (Presbyweb)
Anybody with a free trial or paid subscription will always have access
to all other editions without extra costs
