Dear Editor, I would like to echo the letter from the Rev. Carl Batzel with regard to the attitude of those supporting Amendment A that those who vote against it do so out of fear. I find that more than a little bit insulting. We who believe that setting aside the clear scriptural understanding of what is sinful with regard to sexual behavior is wrong, do so out of a deep conviction about our understanding of what God is saying by the Holy Spirit in the Scriptures, not out of fear. We are not homophobic. But we are not afraid to call sin, sin. Calling sin, sin and calling people to repentance so that they may enjoy new life in Christ is done out of love for people, not fear. To allow people to continue to live in rebellion against God, in fact, to celebrate their sin, is not to love them, but to lead them along the road to destruction. We are all sinners saved by grace. If we kicked all the sinners out, there would be nobody in church on Sunday morning. I'm not afraid of sinners. I'm afraid of those who would call sin 'good.' Rev. Kathleen W.
