To the Editor:

Regarding the letter attributed to the Rev. Barbara G. Hager, Member and Clerk, Southern New England Permanent Judicial Commission: "Say it ain't so, Joe!" Could such an invective have been written by a Presbyterian pastor, let alone a member and clerk of a PJC? Could this really be written by a person who is charged with impartially trying the cases she's referring to?

It is inconceivable to me that a person in such a position of trust and authority could write such an inflammatory letter. If the Rev. Hager really wrote this note, she must remove herself immediately from any role in any of the cases referenced. If not, someone has done her a great disservice by attaching such a diatribe to her name.

My goodness, what would Jesus do?
