  Dear Editor,

I so hope the Layman, a paper I often thank God for, will apologize to Mark Achtemeier, and to those of us who felt anxiety about the content of their article until Dr. Achtemeier wrote his response. My husband is leading a Bible study using Elizabeth Achtemeier's book Nahum--Malachi; a book I suggested to the group. I am inclined to think of the verse in Revelation, "And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!' 'Yes,' says the Spirit. 'so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them." (14:13) At least two deeds, that follow Elizabeth Achtemeier are her books and her son. They are gifts to the Church.
